The Portland Maine Bailliage of La Chaîne des Rôtisseurs
Founded in 1248 by King Louis IX as a guild of goose roasters to the royalty and aristocracy.
Refounded in 1950 as this "Societe Gastronomique" La Chaîne is the world's largest gastronomique organization with over 25,000 members in more than 100 countries.
The U.S. Bailliage is home to over 135 Bailliages with more than 6,000 members.
The Portland, Maine chapter of Le Chaîne des Rôtisseurs was founded in 2018
